BPA Free Ice Cube Trays Can Reduce Your Cancer Risk

One of the culprits of modern society is Bisphenol-A (BPA), which is a compound used in plastic to make it durable, clear, hardy and shatterproof. While most of the companies producing plastic products will say it’s safe to use even in products that are in direct contact with our foods, most of the scientific studies that has been done regarding this matter will say otherwise. The government can’t completely ban  the use of this substance since there is only a connection with increased risks of long term illnesses and the use of BPA. It would end up costing a lot of money if every factory changed their production facilities to produce only BPA free products.

Products like BPA free ice cube trays are selling well these days as some people have realized the problem and are taking matters in their own hands. Ice cube trays are in contact with the water that we put in our drinks, and even though they are not heated (a common reason for BPA leakage from plastic), they can leak it in our ice cubes.

By not purchasing products that contain BPA, it is believed that eventually all manufacturers will change to BPA free products as the ones with BPA are no longer been purchased. It’s a logical thought pattern, and basically it works according the laws of the market economy. It might take more time than most of us think, but it could happen if enough people got in to the BPA free train.

One big problem with this is that most people don’t realize the possible hazard with BPA, and they could unintentionally be using these potentially hazardous products, especially with their kids. More awareness of the potential risks should be the main goal of anyone who wants that there are not food products that contain BPA. Unfortunately there are many places where we can’t really have an effect on this problem. Our foods are stored in plastic before we get it in our homes. Fruits are packaged in plastic bags when they are shipped, and meats are wrapped in plastic. According to a recent study, this could be the biggest source of BPA in our foods these days.
